The board will examine how to streamline the water market and lower water rates.
The Ministry of Finance and Ministry of National Infrastructures today announced the establishment of an inter-ministerial committee to review the structure of Israel's water market.
The committee will examine the optimal continuation of the incorporation of municipal water companies, and how to streamline the various segments of the water market to lower excess costs and allow the reduction in consumers' water rates, while ensuring the market's improvement.
The committee will recommend ways to streamline and cut costs in order to allow an additional rate cut, following the 5% rate cut in January.
