Carmit sells chocolate to Wal-Mart for Christmas

The first order for Christmas 2010 is for $500,000.

Carmit Candy Industries Ltd. (TASE: CMRT) has signed a contract with Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) to sell chocolate coins for Christmas. The first order for Christmas 2010 is for $500,000.

Carmit's sales in the US totaled $8 million in 2009.

Wal-Mart has a 20% share of the US food retail and consumer products market, and had $400 billion in sales in 2009.

Carmit's share was unchanged at NIS 3.60 at the opening today, giving a market cap of NIS 20 million.
