Healthcare co Dia Cardio raises NIS 2.5m

Dia Cardio will use proceeds to develop its product and begin an expanded clinical trial under the FDA protocol for medical devices.

Ofakim Hi-Tech Ventures led a NIS 2.5 million investment portfolio company Dia Cardio Ltd. The investment followed a decision by the Office of the Chief Scientist to support the company's R&D program.

Dia Cardio is developing a decision support system for automatic diagnosis of cardiac function, using echocardiographic patient examinations. The new system uses image analysis methods to precisely identify the inner wall of the left ventricle and can dynamically monitor its motility. It will also be able to monitor the relative motility of the different segments of the left ventricle and may detect ischemic lesions caused by blocked coronary blood vessels. The system enables the cardiologist to assess heart performance better and more quickly.

Dia Cardio will use proceeds from the investment to develop its product and begin an expanded clinical trial under the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510-K protocol for approving medical devices.

Ofakim Hi-Tech Ventures is one of the two incubators owned by Capital Point Ltd. (TASE:CPTP). The other is Maayan Ventures Ltd. (TASE:MAYN).
