Information security co Comsec sets up tech incubator

Comsec VP consulting Yoran Sirkis: We decided to exploit our know-how and connections to help companies and make money.

Information security and risk management firm Comsec Consulting Ltd. will set up a technology incubator and invest NIS 8 million in it in 2011. Yoran Sirkis, Comsec VP consulting services for the past six years, will manage the new incubator.

The incubator will work in full synergy with Comsec in order to fully utilize the company's accumulated international know-how and capabilities. Sirkis has begun reviewing potential companies.

Sirkis told "Globes", "We know the information security world. We know start-ups and large customers, and we brought them together more than once in the past. We decided to exploit our know-how and connections to help companies and make money."

Sirkis said that the information security industry was growing stronger because of increasing threats from online crime and terrorism. "Just last week, the British government announced that it will invest ₤500 million to deal with cyber-terrorism. A lot of companies in the industry that offer solutions come from Israel. We can be the link between huge customers and new companies."
