There are 150,000 illegal migrants in Israel, Israel Radio's Reshet Bet reported today based on figures from the Ministry of Interior's Population Administration.
The Ministry of Interior believes that there are 33,000 migrants and refugees, 15,000 migrant workers and over 100,000 foreigners whose tourist visas have expired but remain in the country - most of them from countries of the former Soviet Union.
In 2010, over 14,000 migrants and refugees from African countries reached Israel via Sinai compared with 9,000 in 2009. The African migrants include 20,000 refugees from Eritrea and 8,000 refugees from Sudan.
