Beersheva schools closed due to rocket fire

Also in the south, terrorists fired a rocket toward Ashdod.

Clashes in the south are escalating. For the first time since Operation Cast Lead in January 2009, terrorists in the Gaza Strip fired a rocket at Ashdod last night. They also fired a Grad rocket at Beersheva this morning. One person was moderately wounded and considerable damage was caused to homes. Residents were instructed to stay in the protected spaces in their homes.

In response to the rocket fire, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor ordered daycare centers to stay closed and Beersheva Mayor Ruvik Danilovich cancelled all classes at schools in the city.
