Dell inaugurates Israeli R&D center
Dell Israel is hiring 70 people for the new center.
Dell's Israeli R&D center is the first of its kind in Israel. It will focus on developing storage technologies and cloud computing solutions, which will be embedded in Dell products worldwide.
The R&D center will be headed by Yossi Ben-Shoshan, formerly Exanet's CTO and now a senior executive in Dell's Enterprise Storage Business. Shiri Kerman-Handel is the development manager.
With the inauguration of the R&D center, Dell Israel is expected to launch a major hiring campaign, whose first target is to double the center's manpower by the end of the year, and to consolidate the center as a global leader. The R&D center currently has 70 employees.
Dell VP and general manager Enterprise Storage Business Darren Thomas is in Israel for the inauguration. He said, "In the past year, we have accompanied the center in every stage of its development and establishment ahead of the realization of its purpose as a leading and strategic R&D center for Dell. The Israeli R&D center is at the forefront of storage and cloud computing technology, and we expect that its R&D achievements will make a major contribution to the further strengthening of Dell's position as a leading player in these fields."
