MK Yacimovitch: ATP proves you can get rich after Sheshinski

In response to a "Globes" interview with ATP CEO Leland Tate, the Labor MK said, "Yitzhak Tshuva, Noble Energy, and all the others should listen to what Tate is saying.

"The entry of a ATP Oil & Gas Corporation (Nasdaq: ATPG) after the Sheshinski legislation proves that the aggressive campaign by the gas companies against increasing the tax rates and their threats that gas production will stop were mendacious and baseless spin," said MK Shelly Yachimovich (Labor) today in response to a "Globes" interview with ATP CEO Leland Tate. Yachimovich is running for the Labor Party chairmanship.

Tate told "Globes" that the tax regime in Israel was reasonable.

Yachimovich added, "It turns out that it's possible to get rich even after Sheshinski. Yitzhak Tshuva, Noble Energy, and all the others should listen to what ATP CEO Leland Tate is saying, because even now Israel is offering good terms to investors and the huge amounts of gas discovered here justify the risk in the response by countries in conflict with Israel."
