Furniture chain Kika to open Israeli store in September

The store will open in the Netanya industrial zone.

Furniture and design chain Kika today announced that it will open its first store in Israel on September 6, just before Rosh Hashana. The company has already hired 70 employees and plans to hire 170 more over the coming months.

The store will open in the Netanya industrial zone. The store is in the final stages of construction. It will have 18,000 square meters gross space on four floors, including more than 13,000 square meters of gross retail space. Kika is also setting up a logistics center at Kfar Aviv, near Ashdod, at an investment of NIS 10 million. The logistics center will serve the first store in Netanya and offer deliveries to customers' homes.

Kika's opening date will likely precede the reopening of the IKEA Israel store at Netanya's Poleg industrial zone, which burned down a few months ago.
