"Haaretz" editor Dov Alfun seen resigning

His departure is apparently linked to the entry of Leonid Nevzlin as a shareholder in the Hebrew daily.

"Haaretz" editor Dov Alfun will reportedly soon resign. Sources inform ''Globes'' that op-ed editor and political commentator Aluf Benn will take his place. Benn has received a similar offer from Hebrew daily "Ma'ariv", now controlled by Nochi Dankner.

Alfun's pending departure, after three years as editor, comes as tycoon Leonid Nevzlin joins the Schocken family in ownership of "Haaretz". Sources at the paper say that Alfun and other "Haaretz" journalists are unhappy at the change in ownership.
