Netanyahu to speak at UN before Palestine independence vote
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu again called on the Palestinians to return to the negotiating table and not embark on unilateral measures.
At today's press conference with Czech Prime Minister Dr. Petr Necas, Netanyahu said, "The General Assembly is not a place where Israel usually receives a fair hearing, but I have nonetheless decided to tell the truth to anyone who wants to hear the truth."
Netanyahu also reacted angrily to yesterday's remarks by a Palestinian official, who called for a "Palestinian state clean of Jews". "It is not possible to establish peace on the basis of lies, because in the end it will explode on the rocks of truth. I was very concerned to hear that an official Palestinian source called for a Jew-free Palestine yesterday - Judenrein. This is an outrage, and I expect the Palestinian Authority to denounce it."
Netanyahu again called on the Palestinians to return to the negotiating table and not embark on unilateral measures. "The only way to achieve peace is through direct negotiations. It cannot be imposed. I have decided to deliver these messages in the address that I will make before the UN General Assembly, where I will go next week."
