Livni brings forward Kadima primaries

Livni officially announced that Kadima primaries would be held on March 27.

The smell of elections is in the air: Kadima chairwoman Tzipi Livni held a press conference today during which she officially announced that party primaries will be held ahead of schedule.

After revealing on Channel 2 news her intention to hold Kadima primaries earlier than planned, Livni officially announced this morning that primaries will be held on March 27, before the Passover holiday.

Livni is expected to respond to a harsh attack on her made earlier this morning by another candidate for party leadership, Shaul Mofaz.

Mofaz said, "Livni has concluded her term as leader of Kadima. Very serious damage has been caused by her weak and suttering conduct. I am calling on all of my friends, supporters and voters to join me on this journey to return Kadima to its natural place in the country."
