McDonald's cuts prices

McDonalds Israel says that the objective is to bring local prices into line with prices elsewhere.

Hebrew daily "Yediot Ahronot" reports that McDonald's Israel is cutting prices for five meals, equalizing them to the Big Mac Index.

The price of a Big Mac, McNuggets, McFish Royal, corn cobs, and EasyMac is being cut by 16% to NIS 29.90 from NIS 34.90. The family meal of a Big Mac and two children's meals is being cut by 7.6% to NIS 85.

Are the price cuts related to the social protest? McDonalds Israel says that the objective was cut prices in Israel to the level of equivalent prices in Western countries, or even more. In London, a Big Mac costs NIS 29.11; in Paris, it costs NIS 29.90; and in Berlin in costs NIS 31.20.

"Yediot Ahronot" says that prices for children's meals are not being cut.
