Health Ministry approves Brainsway trial for autism

Hadassah Medical Center Ein Kerem will conduct an efficacy trial of Brainsway's Deep TMS system for the treatment of autism in children.

The Ministry of Health has approved a clinical trial by Brainsway Ltd. (TASE:BRIN) to test the efficacy of its Deep TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) system as a treatment for autism in children. The trial, which will begin soon, will include 40 children at Hadassah Medical Center Ein Kerem in Jerusalem.

Brainsway will submit an interim report following the completion of the treatment on five patients, in order to obtain permission to continue the trial.

This will be Brainsway's first clinical trial on children in Israel. It has already carried out a trial of its Deep TMS system on children with epilepsy together with Harvard Medical School.

Brainsway's share price fell 0.2% in morning trading to NIS 24.45, giving a market cap of NIS 303 million.
