Golan Telecom: Carriers blocking switch by business customers

The new carrier asked Communications Minister Moshe Kahlon to intervene on the issue during his visit to the carrier's office last Thursday.

Golan Telecom Ltd. has asked Minister of Communications Moshe Kahlon to intervene over the refusal of other mobile carriers to switch business customers to it. The new carrier claims that veteran carriers are refusing to transfer hundreds of thousands of customers who joined the family plans of business customers, such as the Ministry of Finance's Office of the Accountant General, Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. (IAI) (TASE: ARSP.B1), and Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) (TASE: ELEC.B22).

Golan Telecom asked Kahlon to intervene in the issue during his visit to the carrier's office last Thursday. He was briefed on the development of competition in the mobile industry and problems facing the carrier.

These customers, who are not employees of the enterprises, had joined plans that do not permit switching to another carrier, unless the enterprise itself switches carriers.

Golan Telecom also asked Kahlon to settle the issue of antennas, where it claims that local authorities refuse to issue permits for antennas and access facilities to mobile carriers.
