Canada's Adira Energy appoints former IEC CEO as co-chair

Amos Lasker will serve as co-chairman of the company which has takes in the Yitzhak, Gabriella and Samuel offshore licenses.

Canada's Adira Energy Corporation (TSXV: ADL; Bulletin Board: ADENF; XETRA: AORLB8) has appointed former Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) (TASE: ELEC.B22) CEO Amos Lasker as co-chairman.

Adira Energy also obtained a one-month extension from the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources for submitting an environmental survey for the offshore Yitzhak license. The company also has stakes in the offshore Gabriella and Samuel licenses.

Earlier this month, Adira Energy raised a gross $11.1 million in a secondary offering of shares and warrants. The company sold 79 million units, each comprising one share and one unit, at $0.14 per unit. The company will use the net proceeds for financing the development of its three licenses.

Adira Energy's share price closed at C$0.14 on Friday on the Toronto Venture Exchange, giving a market cap of C$15 million.
