Elections for the 19th Knesset will be held on January 22, 2013, according to a memo the Prime Minister's Bureau has distributed, which states that this is the date Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reached with political parties.

The Central Elections Committee currently has 5.6 million registered voters, and the number will be revised before the voting roles are closed. The committee said that 12,000 polling stations will opened nationwide, including at IDF bases. 92 polling booths will be placed at embassies and consulates, where voting will begin a few days before the general election.
