Netanyahu: Cyber attacks on Israel increasing

According to the prime minister, the right response to the cybernetic threat is a digital Iron Dome.

"There are increasing attempts to carry out cyber-attacks on computer infrastructures in the State of Israel. Every day there are attempts, even many attempts, to infiltrate Israel's computer systems," said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the start of yesterday's weekly cabinet meeting. He said that the appropriate response to the cybernetic threat was a digital Iron Dome.

"It was because of this that I established the National Cyber Bureau and it is working to block these attempts by developing what I would call a 'digital Iron Dome' for Israel to defend against computer terrorism."

Next month, the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute will convene the 2nd International Conference on Homeland Security, which will focus on the cybernetic threat. 2,000 people will attend the conference, including military, police, and defense companies' representatives from all over the world. At the conference, Israeli companies will display a range of developments which may offer a response to the emerging cybernetic threat.
