Moshe Wertheim appointed temporary Mizrahi Tefahot chairman

Wertheim, 82, will serve as chairman in November, replacing Jacob Perry who has joined Yair Lapid's Yesh Atid party.

Moshe Wertheim has been appointed chairman of the board of Mizrahi Tefahot Bank (TASE:MZTF) on a temporary basis for the month of November. He will replace Jacob Perry who has joined Yair Lapid's Yesh Atid party.

Wertheim, 82, is part of the controlling core of the bank with a 22% stake alongside the Ofer family. He is the owner of Coca Cola franchisee and beverage manufacturer the Central Bottling Company Group and also owns 25% of the real estate company Alony Hetz Property and Investments Ltd. (TASE: ALHE), and 51% of Channel 2 franchisee Keshet.

Perry had served as Mizrahi Tefahot chairman since 2003.
