Bercleys to build world's lowest mall at Dead Sea

Bercleys today unveiled its plan to build a mall at the Dead Sea at a NIS 200 million investment.

International real estate firm Bercleys today unveiled its plan to build a new mall in the area of the Dead Sea hotels at Ein Bokek. The single-story 10,000-square meter shopping center will cost NIS 200 million to build.

Bercleys' representative in Israel, Adv. Hagai Adoram said that the mall would be built on land bought in July 2012 by the company from private parties, who bought it several years earlier. He said, "This is the only approved plan for commerce for the site. We believe that we will obtain a building permit within a month, and we will publish a tender to pick a contractor." He added that the company was also planning to build a hotel.

"We are encouraging developers to visit the regional council and this specific project," Tamar Regional Council Mayor Dov Litvinoff told "Globes". "We are building a new convention center on the site with Jerusalem Economy Ltd. (TASE:ECJM) (JEC) and there is strong growth in the area."
