Daylight savings will continue through October 6.
Daylight savings time will begin at 2 am Friday, when clocks will be pushed forward one hour to 3 am.
After a long public struggle, in November 2012, the Knesset approved extending daylight savings to 193 days a year from 185 days. Under the new law, daylight savings will continue through October 6.
The switch to daylights savings time save tens of millions of shekels a year, through the reduced consumption of electricity, increased productivity, and higher sales during daylight. As a result, there is a global trend to switch to daylight savings permanently as Russia have already done.
