Ben Gurion ranked world's 100th best airport

Ben Gurion International Airport is ranked 100th out of 395 airports worldwide rated in the Skytrax Airport Awards 2013.

Ben Gurion International Airport is ranked 100th out of 395 airports worldwide rated in the Skytrax Airport Awards 2013 on the basis of 12.1 million passenger reviews. Ben Gurion Airport was opened as Lydda Airport in 1935, during the British Mandate. Ben Gurion Airport rose one place from the 2012 Best Airport Rankings. The airport handles over 12 million passengers a year.

The Israel Airport's Authority said in response, "Terminal 3 is at the forefront of technology in the world in terms of security checks and passenger service. For five years, Ben Gurion Airport has been rated outstanding in quality of service and passenger satisfaction surveys by Airports Council International (ACI), which has 1,643 members in 178 countries Ben Gurion Airport is ranked in first and third place in in ACI's satisfaction survey of 190 airports."

Singapore's Changi Airport, which handles 50 million passengers a year, was ranked in first place, for the first time since 2010. It was followed by Seoul's Incheon International Airport, Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport, Hong Kong International Airport, and Beijing Capital International Airport. Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is the top ranked US airport, in 30th place.

The World Airport Awards are based on 12.1 million survey questionnaires completed by 108 different nationalities of airline customers during the nine month survey period in 2012 and 2013, covering more than 395 airports worldwide. This established, industry survey is totally independent, and evaluates traveler experiences across 39 different airport service and product key performance indicators - from check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security and immigration through departure at the gate
