Rami Levy becomes an official Apple importer

The retailer will sell iPhone 5s for NIS 3,390, NIS 200 more than before it became an official importer.

Mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Rami Levy Communications Ltd. today announced that it has become an official importer of Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL), after negotiations, which "Globes" revealed last month. It will be possible to buy iPhones and iPads on the website of Rami Levy Chain Stores Hashikma Marketing 2006 Ltd. (TASE:RMLI), and, in a few days, at the independent supermarket's branches.

Apple devices can be repaired at Rami Levy branches or at the branches of mobile carrier Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR).

Rami Levy will charge NIS 3,390 for the 16-gigabyte version of the iPhone 5, more than the NIS 3,190 price it charged before it became an official Apple importer. Mobile carriers Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL) currently charges NIS 4,000 for an iPhone 5, Partner charges NIS 3,695, Pelephone Communications Ltd. charges NIS 3,990, and Hot Mobile Ltd. charges NIS 3,690.
