Chip co ASOCS raises $3m

ASOCS develops embedded processors for converged communications on mobile devices.

Sources inform ''Globes'' that communications processor developer ASOCS Ltd. has raised $3 million. Taylor Frigon Capital Partners LP of the US led the round, which boosts the amount of capital raised by the company to $35-40 million. Daniel Recanati and George Guilder also participated in the round.

ASOCS chief scientist Prof. Simon Litsyn of Tel Aviv University and CTO Doron Solomon founded the company in 2003. The company develops embedded processors for converged communications on mobile devices via a range of mobile and wireless protocols on a single processor. It also develops wireless applications, such as digital television.

Other investors include Israel's Vertex Venture Capital, Forum Group, Harel Hertz Investment House Ltd., and angel investor Gideon Ben-Zvi, as well as Japan's Fujitsu Ltd. (TSE: 6702) and FGC.
