Regulator refuses to extend Delek, Noble license rights

The Petroleum Supervisor at the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources today notified gas and oil exploration companies about the extension of rights at the Ruth and Alon licenses.

The Petroleum Supervisor at the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources today notified gas and oil exploration companies about the extension of rights at the Ruth and Alon licenses.

He told those holding rights for the Ruth A, Ruth B, Alon F, and Alon B licenses (Noble Energy Inc. (NYSE: NBL) and Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG) and the Eran license (Noble, Delek units Avner Oil and Gas LP (TASE: AVNR.L) and Delek Drilling Limited Partnership (TASE: DEDR.L), and Ratio Oil Exploration (1992) LP (TASE:RATI.L) that their rights would not be renewed for gas and oil exploration because they had not observed their work plans.

At the same time the Petroleum Supervisor told the rights holders for the Alon A, Alon C, Alon D, Ruth C (Noble, Delek Drilling and Avner) licenses, and the Ishai licenses (Nammax Oil and Gas Ltd., Frendum Investments Ltd., Daden Investments Ltd., AGR, and Israel Opportunity LLP.) that their licenses would be extended for another year.

The Alon licenses are north and northwest of the Tamar field and the Ruth licenses are southeast of Tamar, between the Tamar and Dalit fields.
