There was a slowdown in the demand for high tech employees in the first quarter of 2012, job placement company JobInfo reports. According to the company, there were12% less employees hired in the first quarter in software, and 22% less employees hired in hardware, compared with the corresponding quarter of 2011.

However, mobile and gaming companies increased hiring by 20% in the first quarter of 2012 compared with the first quarter of 2011. This was due to the rise in the development of apps for smartphones.
