Israeli pilots agree to English test

El Al said it expects its international flights to fly as scheduled.

El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. (TASE: ELAL) today announced that the Pilots Union, which represents the pilots of all Israeli airlines, has ordered the pilots to take an English language exam after the union and the Israel Civil Aviation Authority settled their dispute.

Two weeks ago, the Pilots Union refused to let pilots take the exam. The English language exam for all pilots making international flights is part of safety requirements set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and is a requirement for renewing an international pilot's license.

El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. (TASE: ELAL) said that all its pilots will take the English exam by March 5, and therefore all international flights will fly as scheduled.
