Rami Levy to offer unlimited mobile calls for NIS 88 monthly

MVNO Rami Levy Communications will also expand its offering of mobile devices. "We can sell handsets at low cost."

Mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Rami Levy Communications Ltd. today officially announced its all-inclusive mobile plan at NIS 88 per month. Belying reports that Rami Levy plans to replace its host network, Pelephone Communications Ltd., with Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR), the MVNO renewed its contract with Pelephone.

Rami Levy Communications also announced that, in the wake of the handset market reform that the Ministry of Communications is promoting, it will expand its offering of mobile devices. "Until now, we only sold four models, because we did not want to sell smartphones at a price that would not be the lowest possible price. Now that the reform is coming into effect, we can sell handsets at low cost, Levy told "Globes".

Yesterday, MVNO Alon Cellular Ltd., which markets as YouPhone, announced an unlimited calls plan at NIS 109 per month for all customers. It also announced a free plan for You customer club members who spend at least NIS 1,500 a month at Mega supermarkets, the brand of sister company Alon Holdings Blue Square - Israel Ltd. (NYSE: BSI; TASE: BSI). Alon Cellular also announced that it was lowering prices for several mobile handsets (some of which can be bought at a discount at Mega).
