Professors, pundits, prophets and their predictions
Monday 10/12/2012

"God created economists to make weathermen and astrologists look good," says Prof. Nouriel Roubini, a.k.a. Dr. Doom, the man who won world renown for his bleak forecasts about economic crises. After the 2008 financial crisis, what was obvious became even clearer: economists are not mathematicians who can predict the future. Too many "black swans" face the most learned forecasters. Moreover, it has become clear in recent years that we can barely understand the present. Nonetheless, ahead of 2013, humanity still seeks to predicts it future and prepare for it. What will be the economic, political, and social trends in 2013? What is the greatest threat of 2013: terrorism, natural disasters, or social unrest? Where should you invest? Will global leaders be able to make sagacious decisions and implement the right policies next year?
